Dr. Lisa Roach is a highly skilled pediatric optometrist who grew up in The Woodlands and is proud to serve the community she calls home. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences from Texas A&M University, graduating Summa Cum Laude, before completing her Doctor of Optometry at Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee, where she again graduated Summa Cum Laude and earned multiple academic and clinical honors.
Following graduation, Dr. Roach developed and led a pediatric vision care program in private practice, caring for children as young as three months old. In 2020, she joined Texas Children’s Hospital through Baylor College of Medicine, where she worked in a hospital-based pediatric ophthalmology clinic. There, she launched a specialty aphakic infant contact lens clinic—the first of its kind at Texas Children’s—providing life-changing care for infants after congenital cataract surgery.
Dr. Roach’s clinical expertise includes pediatric primary eye care, amblyopia (lazy eye) management, strabismus (eye misalignment) care, and treatment of pediatric ocular disease. She has extensive experience working with preverbal and nonverbal children, tailoring examinations to meet each child’s developmental and communication needs. She also treats children for failed vision screenings, ocular injuries, and urgent eye conditions.
As Dr. Miller’s optometric partner at Houston Eye Associates, Dr. Roach brings exceptional training, compassion, and a collaborative approach to building one of the region’s leading pediatric eye care teams. Her goal is to ensure every child receives the highest standard of vision care in a warm, supportive environment.
Her many honors include the Clinical Excellence in Ocular Disease Award, the Welch Allyn Clinical Excellence Award, and the Dean’s Endowed Academic Scholarship. She is a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society and a certified PEDIG (Pediatric Eye Disease Investigator Group) investigator.
