Dr. Lucy Bailey is a fellowship-trained, board-certified ophthalmologist with several years of experience. She grew up in Houston, Texas before leaving the Bayou City to graduate with a bachelor’s degree in music from Stanford University. Dr. Bailey then earned a Master of Public Health degree from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and earned her Medical Doctorate from the Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons. She moved back to Houston to complete her residency in ophthalmology at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. After a year of fellowship in California and a year of practice in San Antonio, she has been a part of the Houston Eye Associates team since 2022.
Dr. Bailey specializes in comprehensive ophthalmology, premium and laser-assisted cataract surgery, dry eyes, diabetic eye conditions, and external eye issues, including chalazion and ptosis, among other areas of expertise.
Dr. Bailey speaks Spanish, so you can be at ease bringing your Spanish-speaking friends and relatives.
Dr. Bailey has been showcased with many outstanding awards, including one of SuperDoctors "Texas Rising Stars" in 2022, 2023, and 2024, Best San Antonio Female Doctor – "Scene in S.A. Magazine," Best San Antonio Doctor – "Scene in S.A. Magazine," Chief Resident in Ophthalmology, Cornea Research and Education Foundation Award, and the Sara and Arnold P. Friedman Award.
In her free time, Dr. Bailey enjoys walking her golden retriever Winston, horseback riding, and playing the flute.
