Joshua Atkinson, M.D. graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science in Neurobiology and a certification in Computer Programming. He then attended McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Medical School at Houston where he became a Doctor of Medicine with a concentration in neuroscience. Dr. Atkinson completed his ophthalmology residency at West Virginia University Eye Institute as the Chief Resident.
Dr. Atkinson has participated in several research studies and was awarded a research grant from the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke in 2012. He has published numerous articles and presented his research at various national meetings. Dr. Atkinson is a member of the American Medical Association, the Texas Medical Association, the Harris County Medical Society, and the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
In his spare time, Dr. Atkinson enjoys cooking, snow-skiing, and plays the guitar, piano, and trumpet! Dr. Atkinson practices comprehensive ophthalmology and performs cataract surgery He looks forward to seeing you at our 1960, Tomball, and Conroe offices!
