Daniel E. Jenkins, M.D.
Dr. Jenkins was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan and raised in Houston, Texas. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Zoology from the University of Texas in Austin in 1967. Dr. Jenkins went on to study medicine and graduated from the University of Tennessee in Memphis in 1971. After completing a Baylor Affiliated Internship, Dr. Jenkins spent his three-year residency studying ophthalmology and ophthalmic surgery at the Baylor Medical College. He moved to California and completed a fellowship in Oculoplastics at the University of San Francisco under Dr. Crowell Beard. After completing his fellowship, Dr. Jenkins moved back to his hometown of Houston.
Dr. Jenkins is a Diplomat of the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is active in several organizations, such as the Texas Medical Association, Texas Ophthalmological Association, and the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He began seeing patients at the Harrisburg Eye Clinic with Dr. Cecil Greer, who founded the clinic in 1934. Dr. Jenkins joined Houston Eye Associates (HEA) January 1, 2012 and is excited to be part of the HEA group and continue providing quality care to all of his patients at the Harrisburg office.
When not working, Dr. Jenkins enjoys traveling, hunting, and entertaining at his Austin country home. He is a proud board member of the East End Management District and a member of the Harrisburg Rotary Club. Dr. Jenkins is also fluent in Spanish.
