Lindsey D. Harris M.D., F.A.C.S.
Lindsey D. Harris, M.D., F.A.C.S. grew up in Beaumont, Texas, and she graduated from the University of Virginia. She received many awards and scholarships, including the Coca-Cola Scholar, National Merit Scholar, Echols Scholar, and Lawn Room Recipient. Dr. Harris returned to Texas to continue her education at the University of Texas Medical School, where she was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society and received the American Medical Women's Association Janet M. Glasgow Achievement Award. She completed her ophthalmology residency at Baylor College of Medicine, where she served as the Chief Resident. While at Baylor College of Medicine, she also received the Stephen B. Schindler Award for high ethical and humane standards and the Everett L. Goar Award for best research. Following her ophthalmology residency, she completed her fellowship in Vitreoretinal Diseases and Surgery at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Harris has numerous publications and has presented her research at meetings nationally and internationally. She is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and specializes in diseases of the vitreous and retina. She is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. For multiple years Dr. Harris received the Houston Eye Associates Foundation's Physician of the Year award. She has served on many boards, including Executive Committee of Christus Foundation for Healthcare and the Board of Trustees of the Houston Eye Associates Foundation. Her husband is currently serving Texas as a judge on the First Court of Appeals.
