Hayne Sheffield M.D.
Dr. Sheffield is a native Texan. He graduated from high school in Humble, Texas. In 1965 he received his B.A. degree with honors from the University of Texas in Austin. He soon after began his medical education at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston from which, in 1969, he received his Doctor of Medicine degree with high honors.
After an internship at Brackenridge Hospital in Austin, he returned to Galveston for his residency training in ophthalmology, completing the program at UTMB in 1973 and, shortly thereafter, entering private practice.
Serving the population of the northern Houston metropolitan area, Dr. Sheffield has practiced general ophthalmology for over twenty-eight years. In 2002 Dr. Sheffield joined the Houston Eye Associates and, under the auspices of this respected group continues to serve the people of his home area.
Dr. Sheffield is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Harris County Medical Society, and the Texas Medical Association.
Dr. Sheffield is married to Patricia L. Sheffield with whom he has been privileged to rear three wonderful children. Since 1980, Dr. and Mrs. Sheffield have been residents of Tomball, Texas and members of Tomball United Methodist Church.
The Sheffield family enjoys travel, especially to places of historical interest and natural beauty. A favorite destination is Colorado. When at home, in his spare time, Dr. Sheffield prefers to be outdoors, tending his cattle and dogs and enjoying the wonders of the natural world.
