C. Downey Price, M.D., F.A.C.S.
C. Downey Price, M.D., F.A.C.S., is a board-certified ophthalmologist who has practiced comprehensive ophthalmology in the Conroe-Woodlands area since 1972. He received his medical degree from University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore in 1966 and completed his ophthalmology residency at University of Maryland School of Medicine in 1972.
He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the International College of Surgeons. He maintains membership in the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, Texas Ophthalmological Association, Texas Medical Association, American Medical Association, the Montgomery County Medical Society (Past President), and the Houston Ophthalmological Society (Past President).
Dr. Price has had extensive experience in Argon and YAG laser surgery completing some of his initial training with Dr. Danielle Aron Rosa, the inventor of the YAG laser, in Paris, France.
He is Past President and current Medical Director of Benevolent Missions International, an organization he helped establish that provides pro bono clinical and surgical eye care to the underserved in Third World countries. In November, 2006, he was honored with the coveted"Outstanding Humanitarian Award" by the American Academy of Ophthalmology for his extensive work in developing clinics and surgery centers in Third World countries.
Dr. Price is married to his wife, Edna, and they reside in Conroe, Texas. They are the parents of three sons.
